       FAIRFIELD -- Lawrence High School scored all its runs without the benefit of a hit, beating Hampden Academy 3-1 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A baseball game authentic Aaron Rowand jersey Black that featured only five hits Monday.

Several hundred family and friends gathered in the Bowling Green High School auditorium Tuesday, when four Purples and Lady Purples signed letters of intent to play their respective sports in college.

       Caleb Hanes signed to play baseball with Western Kentucky, soccer players Austin Greer and Kara Higdon inked with Centre College and Florida Southern, respectively, and Jennifer Montgomery signed to swim at Transylvania.
Hanes said getting the chance to play for his hometown university is exciting.
"There is no where else I'd rather play," he said. authentic Yadier Molina jersey Red "It's a good chance to fulfill that dream I always had."
Hanes didn't specify other schools that showed interest, saying WKU was always his first choice.

 "The team is getting so much better and I'm glad for the opportunity," Hanes said. "It's tough. It took a lot of hard work, but hopefully I can be a key Yadier Molina official jersey asset to that team."
A pitcher/first baseman, Hanes said he will be asked to pitch for the Hilltoppers - a challenge he's looking forward to.

"We actually plan on rooming together," Hanes said. "We're really good friends - really close. It's going to be a blast."
Like Hanes, Greer has an opportunity to play with a familiar face - Greenwood's Josh Settle signed two weeks ago with Centre.

Greer is a four-time first-team Academic All-State selection. The Purples went 76-12-8 in his four seasons, including winning the state championship in 2006. Greer had the game-winning assist in the title game.

"It was just a feeling I guess," Greer said. "You get that feeling when you go there. Centre just felt right."

"He thought it would be a perfect fit for me," Higdon said. "I went down there and visited the girls. The coaches were awesome and the campus was nice. Everything authentic Aaron Rowand jersey Black was great."
A first team All-State academic selection, Higdon earned a reputation as a fierce competitor, helping lead the Lady Purples to a 57-25-8 record the last four years.

"In the end, I decided I couldn't live without soccer," Higdon said. "It's been really overwhelming and honestly I'm just glad I made it through it. For Montgomery, Tuesday's signing was the end of a long recruiting process.

One of Bowling Green's most versatile swimmers, Montgomery excelled at the 100-meter breast stroke and the 200-meter individual medley.
She said Transylvania has already indicated she will get a chance to compete right away in the breaststroke and another event.
"It feels amazing that I can swim all four years instead of sitting on the bench two or three years and then getting to swim," Montgomery said.

At this stage in the season, you don't make that call unless it is clearly obvious. But after the call was made, even Bartlett fans were confused. Not having picked up on the balk, they waited before the reality of the outcome sank in.
To his credit, after Carson's initial protest he retreated without turning the scene uglier than it could have been.
"It just leaves a bad feeling for everybody," Carson said. "Both teams had Aaron Rowand official jersey battled and it had been a great game. Then it ends like that and you just feel awful. This is a horrible feeling to battle like this and then have a game end that way."
     Such an emotionally draining loss this early in a tournament is tough to bounce back from. And Cleveland now must  recover in time to play its losers-bracket game this morning at 11, on the same field where it lost Tuesday.
But rallying is a trait this year's Blue Raiders have proven capable of, having come from behind in the late innings in three of their last four games before the state tournament.
"I know it sounds like a broken record, but these kids are not going to just give up," Carson said. "They've played with a lot of guts -- too much lately to just pack it in."
